Ingredients

  • 5 Rohu fish - or any fresh water fish like catla
  • 5 Kokum (Malabar Tamarind)
  • 1/2 Methi Seeds (Fenugreek Seeds)
  • 3 teaspoons Mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 4 cups Hot water
  • 1 Salt - to taste
  • 1 Tomato - chopped
  • 1 Elephant yam (Suran/Senai/Ratalu)
  • 3 Green Chillies - chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic - chopped

Instructions

Now mix in the green chillies and mix gently for a few seconds.mix in the remaining turmeric ground mix and seasoning.Now mix in the boiled yam pieces and mix gently for a minute or till the yam is coated with the elements in the kadai.Now mix in the finely sliced tomatoes and saute till the tomato is soft.Now mix in about 2-3 cups of scalding liquid and make for 3 mins on medium scalding up.

If using cold liquid, you need continue culinary preparation on high scalding up till the liquid comes to heat to boiling point.
