  • 2 Bay leaves (tej patta)
  • 1 Dry Red Chilli - halved

To begin making the Assamese Bilahir Tok formula, mildly hot a kadai/cooking vessel with mustard cooking oil.When the cooking oil starts to smoke, temper with the items required given 'For tempering'.Now, toss in the diced tomatoes to the cooking vessel.

toss in turmeric ground mix, red chilli ground mix, table salt and granulated sugar and mix gently well.make over low/medium flame, covered for 5-7 moments, stirring occasionally.Continue crafting till all the extra moisture has been absorbed and the cooking oil separates on the sides of the kadai.Switch off and your tasty Bilahir Tok is ready to be served.
