Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mixed Sprouts - cleaned
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes - chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Green Chilli - slit
  • 1/2 cup Onions - finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Maharashtrian Goda Masala
  • 6 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tamarind Paste - (or 1 tsp lemon juice)
  • 5 sprig Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - chopped for garnish
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped for garnish
  • Farsan - as required (or dry snack mix) for garnish and for the crunch
  • Lemon wedges - as required for garnish
  • Pav buns - as required

Instructions

To begin making the Indian Misal Bunny Chow formula, In a pressure cooker, mix in cleaned mixed sprouts, 2 cups of moisture, seasoning, turmeric ground mix and cut up tomatoes.

wrap and pressure prepare for 2 whistles.In a deep cooking vessel, mix in margarine and once it is fiery mix in cumin seeds.Now mix in slit green chilies, onions, ginger and garlic paste and shallow fry well.Now mix in the goda masala or the replacement spices as mentioned above.mix in curry leaves toss together well and shallow fry until margarine leaves the side of the dish.Now mix in the cooked mixed sprouts.

Adjust seasoning if required.mix in tamarind moisture to bring in the tang and let it bubble gently on low mildly hot for 5 moments.

mix in more moisture if needed.For serving, take a pav and make a well in the centre (retain all the walls of the pav to use it as a katori or container.Now offer the fiery misal in pav container and scatter raw coriander, cut up onions, lemon wedges and farsan if using.offer Indian Misal Bunny Chow along with Green Pea Fritters and Masala Chai during your tea parties.
