Ingredients

  • 600g Flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • 450ml Milk
  • 75 ml Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 50g Ground Walnuts
  • 10g Cardamom
  • 300g Sugar
  • 1 L Water

Instructions

Place ground mix in a container, and create a hole in the middle of the ground mix.

whip eggs, and then stream in whisked eggs into the well.

mix in dairy liquid, and combine.

Then, agitate in the ground walnuts, baking ground mix and cardamom, and mix in to the mixture.

Fold fixings into the mixture until it forms an elastic pastry mix consistency.

Take pastry mix and with a rolling pin, roll out into a thin rectangle on a sanitize surface.

Then, from the longest side of the rectangle, fold the pastry mix into 3cm-wide lines, until the pastry mix is fully rolled in a long line.

Cut folded pastry mix horizontally into 3cm pieces mildly hot a deep wok of the veggie cooking oil, and wait till it reaches frying temperature.

Whilst you are waiting.

Fill a deep wok with 1 litre of liquid, and bring to the heat to boiling point.

Then, stream in in the granulated sugar, and agitate gently until it becomes thick and syrup-like.

Turn down the mildly hot and leave to low-boil.

Carefully lower each piece of pastry mix into the frying cooking oil.

sauté until golden brown.

When golden brown, take the Baghlaw pieces out of the cooking oil, and place them into the granulated sugar syrup to coat.

Remove from the syrup and whilst still mildly hot, strew with ground walnuts, so they stick to the Baghlaw.

Leave to cool.
