Ingredients

  • 2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as required
  • Sunflower Oil - as required
  • 2 tablespoons Ajwain (Carom seeds)
  • 3 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tablespoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - few
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)

Instructions

To begin making the Ajwain Besan Ka Paratha, we will first make the flour base.

mix in in the dusting masala condiment and a pinch of table salt into a large dish.

mix in a little moisture at time and fold to make a firm yet creamy flour base.fold well for about 3 to 4 mins, this will make the parathas soft.

trickle a teaspoon of margarine over the flour base and fold for another couple of mins.

seal and keep aside.Now to begin making the paratha, keep some dusting masala condiment aside for dusting.

Divide the flour base into large lemon side balls.Dust the flour base portions in dusting masala condiment, flatten it and roll it into a 3 inch diameter circle.Now mix in some besan, ajwain, table salt, red chilli dusting masala condiment, cumin seeds, turmeric dusting masala condiment and coriander leaves on half side of the circle.

agitate everything properly and trickle some margarine on the mixture.Close the paratha by folding it with the other half.

We will have a semi circle oval shape.Press the sides of the paratha down to seal the edges and gently using the rolling pin to flatten it.

Take care, the filling can ooze out if the flour base is rolled out too thin.Now to oven-cook the ajwain besan Paratha, first preheat the skillet on medium toasty.

Place the rolled paratha on top and allow it to oven-cook on one side.

After about 10 to 15 seconds, flip the paratha.At this stage, smear some margarine or ghee to oven-cook the paratha.

oven-cook the paratha by flipping over a couple of times until you see golden brown spots on both sides.Proceed the same way with the remaining flour base portions and dish up the parathas fiery.dish up Ajwain Besan Ka Paratha with Mango Pickle and Mooli Raita for a mouth-watering breakfast.
