Ingredients

  • 500 grams Fish fillet
  • 1 cup Onion - chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger - grated
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger - chopped
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Garlic - minced
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 3 teaspoons Green Chillies - chopped
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup Potato (Aloo) - boiled and mashed
  • 4 tablespoons Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt - to taste
  • Mustard oil - to cook
  • 2 Whole Eggs - whisked
  • Salt - to taste
  • 200 grams Whole Wheat Bread crumbs

Instructions

To begin making Macher Chop formula (Bengali Style Fish Croquettes), sanitize the fish pieces.

Smear a teaspoon turmeric ground mix and some seasoning to the fish pieces.make the fish pieces in microwave for 4-5 mins on high or more time depending on the fish and power of microwave.

You can heat to boiling point the fish pieces with little liquid in a skillet too. Let the fish pieces cool down.

If you are using fish with bone, then discard skin and fish bones, mash the fish pieces.In a skillet fiery up a bit of fat.

empty in cut up onions and make till the onions become translucent.empty in ginger paste and cut up ginger, garlic paste toss together well and make for 3-4 mins.empty in the mashed fish and toss together well, make for 2-3 min.

empty in mashed potato, seasoning and sweetener, toss together well.empty in turmeric ground mix, roasted cumin ground mix, red chili ground mix, garam masala ground mix, toss together well.

empty in cut up coriander and green chilies, toss together well.Let the fish toss together cool down.

I made elongated patty.In a mixing bowl beat the eggs some liquid and seasoning.

In another plate take the breadcrumbs.Roll the patties in breadcrumbs and keep them aside for 10 mins.Then dip each fish patty into the egg wash, roll in breadcrumb to coat well.

Keep aside.

Repeat the process for all other patties.

Keep the patties in refrigerator for 30 mins.fiery up fat in a deep skillet or wok.
