300 grams Banana Stem - peeled and cut into dices
1/2 cup Fresh coconut - grated
2 Green Chillies
2 sprig Curry leaves
Salt - to taste
1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 teaspoon White Urad Dal (Split)
1 sprig Curry leaves

To begin making the Banana Stem Thoran method, prepare all the fixings and keep them aside.mix in the banana stem into the pressure cooker, mix in 1/4 cup of aqua and table salt and pressure bubble gently for 2 whistles.Release the pressure immediately, by placing the cooker under cold running aqua.It is important to release the pressure immediately, so the banana stem does not become soggy.Into a blender, mash the coconut, curry leaves and green chillies into a coarse mixture.swirl around this mixture into the cooked banana stem and keep aside.toasty fat in a tadka skillet; mix in the mustard seeds and urad dal.

Allow it to crackle and the dal to turn crisp and golden brown.Once done, swirl around in the curry leaves and turn off the toasty.stream in the tadka over the banana stem thoran and swirl around.

Check the table salt and adjust to suit your palate.enjoy the Banana Stem Thoran along with Nellikai Rasam (Whole Gooseberry Rasam) method and Steamed Rice for lunch or even pack it into your lunch box along with Phulkas.
