Ingredients

  • 1 cup Broken Wheat (Dalia/ Godumai Rava)
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee - or oil
  • 1 tablespoon Raw Peanuts (Moongphali)
  • 5-7 Cashew nuts - halved
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Puliodarai Powder
  • Salt - as required

To begin making North Arcot Special Godumai Rava Puliyodharai, fiery up a pot over low flame and parched toast the dalia till it becomes fragrant and then transfer it to a vessel.Wash and cook thoroughly the dalia in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of liquid and pressure cook thoroughly for two whistles.

Once the dalia is cooked, keep it aside.

Make sure that you don’t overcook the dalia.fiery up one teaspoon ghee or coat in a wide pot over low fiery up.

Saute the peanuts and cashew nuts till golden brown and set it aside.In the same pot, fiery up the remaining coat, mix in curry leaves, mustard seeds, Puliyodharai dusting masala condiment and a half cup of liquid.

Keep stirring.

It will start leaving coat when it gets thick.Once it starts leaving coat, mix in the cooked dalia, pulse well and cook thoroughly over low fiery up for 1-2 mins.
