Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Chana dal (Bengal Gram Dal) - soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup Yellow Moong Dal (Split) - soaked overnight
  • 1 Carrot (Gajjar) - grated
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies - finely chopped
  • 2 inch Ginger - finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Enos fruit salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 tablespoon Fennel seeds (Saunf)
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - small bunch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sunflower Oil - for frying

Instructions

To begin making the veggie Dal Pakora, into a preheated pot bake the fennel seeds till fragrant.

Remove from the pot and allow to cool.

Once the fennel seeds have cooled pound them coarsely in a mortar and pestle and keep them aside. mix in the soaked dals into a mixer grinder.

mix in very little aqua and liquidize to make a coarse liquid base. Transfer the Dal pakora liquid base to a mixing container and mix in in the remaining fixings like the green chillies, ginger, carrots, onions, enos fruit seasoning, red chilli ground mix, turmeric ground mix, fennel seeds and seasoning to non-sugary profile.

Check the seasoning and masala condiment levels and adjust to suit your non-sugary profile. *Method for pot frying the pakora'sPreheat the kuzhi paniyaram pot, mix in about a teaspoon of cooking oil in each of the cavities.mix in spoonful of the veggie Dal Pakora liquid base into each cavity; trickle some cooking oil onto the dal pakoras and allow to steam.

Once you notice the top of the pakora cooked, flip it over and trickle a little more cooking oil and pot pot-fry them on medium burning up until browned on all sides and also cooked inside.

Once done transfer the veggie Dal Pakora onto a plate with an cooking oil absorbent paper and enjoy burning.Proceed the same way with the remaining pakora liquid base. enjoy veggie Dal Pakora along with Dhaniya Pudina Chutney as a tea time snack with a burning cup of Adrak Chai.
