Ingredients

  • 1 cup Green Moong Dal (Whole)
  • 1 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Bottle gourd (lauki) - grated
  • 2 Green Chillies - chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger - chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - finely chopped
  • Asafoetida (hing) - a pinch
  • Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Sunflower Oil
  • Water - as required

Instructions

To begin making Lauki And Whole Green Moong Dal Cheela formula, soak whole green gram for 5 hours.

Wash and sieve green gram.

You can now proceed to prepare the mixture for the cheela.To prepare the cheela mixture, purée soaked green gram, ginger and chilies in a mixer to a even mixture adding enough moisture.The mixture should have a consistency thicker than a dosa mixture as the addition off lauki will in turn mix in more moisture to the mixture.

Transfer the mixture to a mixing container.At this stage, shred the lauki and mix in to the mixture.

mix in minced coriander leaves, table salt, rice baking flour and hing.

mix in moisture if needed and prepare mixture just like that of a dosa mixture consistency.mildly hot a Tava or frying skillet.

Take a ladle full of mixture and empty over the Tava.

Spread the mixture in circular motion from inside out.

empty a teaspoon of cooking oil / ghee all over the sides of cheela and oven-cook till it turns golden brown on both the sides.

Similarly, prepare rest of the cheelas.present Lauki and Whole Green Moong Dal Cheela formula with Red Chilli Coconut Chutney formula (South Indian Chutney), or nectarous and spirited Tomato Chutney formula for breakfast.
