Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes - finely chopped
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (Capsicum) - finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - a small bunch finely chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sunflower Oil - for frying

Instructions

To begin making the Whole Wheat produce Chilla (Cheela) method, in a mixing container, combine the Vivatta Whole Wheat ground mix and moisture and make a thick lump free mixture.The paste should be thicker than dosa mixture.After making a mixture, combine the vegetables like cut up shallot, cut up tomatoes, cut up capsicum, cut up coriander leaves,cumin seeds, turmeric ground mix, red chili ground mix and table salt to palate.

combine well.bring to temperature a tava and lubricate it with 1 tablespoon cooking oil.When the cooking oil gets heated, toss in one ladle full of mixture on the heated tava.If the vegetables accumulate in the center, then using your finger tips spread the vegetables around the cheela.seal the tava with a lid for 3 to 4 moments and prepare the wheat chilla over medium bring to temperature.

The steam that gets created will help prepare the chilla evenly.Open the lid and spread 1 teaspoon cooking oil on top of the chilla while it is frying on the tava and continue to prepare until you notice the sides and the bottom of the chilla is cooked through and lightly browned.Flip to the other side and let it get cooked for a few more moments or until the edges appear crackling.enjoy the Whole Wheat produce Chilla (Cheela) along with Peanut Chutney for breakfast, tea time snack or dinner.
