Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pink Masoor Dal (Split)
  • 10 Shallot
  • 1 Tomato - roughly chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies - roughly chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Bay leaf (tej patta)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ghee - for seasoning

Instructions

1
To begin making the Dal Chenchki preparation guide, I will be using the pressure cooker to bubble gently the entire dish in one pot.Wash and parched the masoor dal in a towel as will be roasting it along with the seasoning.toasty a tablespoon of ghee in the pressure cooker; mix in in the cumin seeds and bay leaf; allow them to crackle for a few seconds.Next mix in in the onions and saute the onions till it changes colour and you get the aromas of the shallots.
2
I typically like to quarter the onions and then mix in it to the dal, but traditionally it is added as a whole.Once the onions are roasted, mix in in the masoor dal and char for about a minute on medium toasty until you smell more fragrant flavors.
3
In the last step, mix in in the tomatoes, turmeric ground mix, green chillies, red chilli ground mix, garam masala ground mix and coriander ground mix.agitate all the ingredient well and mix in 3 cups of moisture to the Dal Chenchki mixture.
4
mix in in the table salt to palate and seal the pressure cooker. Pressure bubble gently until you hear 2 whistles, after which turn the toasty to low and bubble gently for another 3 to 4 moments.
5
Turn off the toasty and allow the pressure to release naturally.
6
The dal will be culinary preparation more inside the cooker even when the toasty is turned off.Once the pressure is released, you can then open the cooker and check the fragrant element and saly levels and adjust according to palate. Finally agitate in the cut up coriander leaves and agitate. enjoy the Dal Chenchki with Aloo Parwal Sabzi (another Bengali favorite) and burning rice, topped with ghee.
