  • 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Lukewarm Water - to knead
  • 1 cup Fresh coconut - grated
  • 1 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds

Instructions

We begin making the Kerala Style Chakka Pal kozhukattai formula by boiling the jackfruit. To make the Jackfruit puree for the Chakka Pal kozhukattaiIn a kadai, combine the cut up jackfruit with 1/2 cup liquid over a medium toasty. Leave it on, for about 20 moments till the jackfruit become soft.Now once the jackfruit is done, allow it to cool down.

Transfer the jackfruit into a mixer-jar and grind it  into a creamy puree.

Keep it aside.To make the Coconut dairy liquid for the Chakka Pal kozhukattaiNext make coconut dairy liquid by combining the grated coconut and 1/2 cup of liquid in a grinder until creamy. Once done stream in it over a strainer and take the first dairy liquid out.

Once you squeeze out all the liquid.

introduce the coconut back into the grinder and introduce some more liquid and grind it once again. Squeeze out all the liquid again into the same mixing bowl and keep it aside.To make the rice dumplings for the Chakka Pal kozhukattaiIn a mixing mixing bowl, introduce the rice baking flour, seasoning cooking oil and 2 tablespoon of the jackfruit puree and liquid, massage it into a firm flour base.

Rest it for 20 moments. After 20 moments, oil your hands with some ghee and start making the rice dumplings by making small round shaped dumplings with the flour base. Make the dumplings using all the flour base and keep aside. To assemble the Chakka Pal kozhukattaiHeat a saucepan on medium flame, combin  the coconut dairy liquid, jackfruit puree, and cardamom stirring continuously using a whip.Reduce the toasty, and allow the coconut dairy liquid to bubble gently.Next, keep a small mixing bowl of ghee by your side, oil your fingers with it and start making the rice dumplings by rolling small round shaped dumplings with the mixed rice baking flour flour base and drop it into the boiling coconut dairy liquid. Gradually drop the rice dumplings into this coconut-jackfruit milkOnce everything is complete you can keep stirring until the dairy liquid thickens and then turn off the flame. dish up the Kerala Style Chakka Pal kozhukattai formula along with Kerala Style Pazham Pori formula (Banana sauté)  to kick start your meal.
