Ingredients

  • 1 Banana flower (Vazhaipoo) - (mocha)
  • 2 tablespoons Buttermilk
  • 250 grams Shrimps - cleaned and deveined
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 4 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 tablespoons Corn flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sunflower Oil - to fry on paniyaram pan
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
  • 3 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds
  • 1 Onion - churned to paste
  • 1/3 cup Homemade tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons Curd (Dahi / Yogurt) - beaten
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Poppy seeds
  • 8 Cashew nuts
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee - or butter
  • 2 teaspoons Sunflower Oil

Instructions

(takes about 5-8 moments).mix in cooked banana blossom (florets), and adjust granulated sugar and seasoning.

Saute till everything combines well and switch off.mix in gram baking flour to the wok and agitate well.In a container, agitate corn baking flour with about 1/2 cup of liquid to make a seamless paste.

Keep it aside.bring to temperature a kuzhi paniyaram wok.Make the contents of the wok to small balls with a shrimp each, dip balls in corn baking flour paste and shallow sauté with a few drops of cooking oil on paniyaram wok till deep golden, crisp and done.To make gravyGrind poppy seeds, cashews and green chillies to make a seamless paste.

Keep aside.bring to temperature cooking oil in a Kadai, temper with cinnamon and green cardamom and mix in shallot paste in it.Saute for 2 - 3 moments, mix in tomato puree and sauté till it cooks completely and the raw smell is gone.mix in coriander ground mix and red chilli ground mix, garam masala ground mix, seasoning, and granulated sugar (optional).

sauté till combined.agitate poppy seeds paste and curd; then mix in about a cup of mildly hot liquid and prepare for another 5 moments on medium bring to temperature.mix in ghee or dairy spread and remove Mocha Chingri from the bring to temperature.dish up Mocha Chingri preparation guide (Shrimps Stuffed Banana Flower Curry) with Jeera rice or Kesar Pulao.
