Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Instant Oats (Oatmeal)
  • 1/2 cup Sooji (Semolina/ Rava)
  • 1/2 cup Curd (Dahi / Yogurt) - whisked
  • 1 teaspoon White Urad Dal (Split)
  • 1 tablespoon Raw Peanuts (Moongphali)
  • 1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
  • 1/3 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/3 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera) - roasted
  • 2 Green Chilli - finely chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger - grated
  • 1 Carrot (Gajjar) - finely chopped
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (Capsicum) - finely chopped
  • 8 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 50 grams Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • Salt - to taste

Instructions

To begin making the Mixed veggie Oats Idli, first of all toasty a wok and dehydrated toast the oats and semolina separately.Now coarsely ground the oats with the help of mixer grinder.

Now take a big container introduce the whisked yogurt in it, then introduce semolina and oats dusting seasoning in it.Now introduce all minced vegetables (except shallot), seasoning, cumin dusting seasoning in it.

incorporate well.Now toasty the fat in a wok and introduce mustard seeds.

When the seeds crackle, introduce the urad dal, cumin seeds, curry leaves, peanuts, shallot and asafoetida in it and saute on a medium toasty for few seconds.Now stream in this tempering on idli mixture and incorporate well.

Now put a lid on this mixture and set aside for 15 to 30 mins.

Meanwhile shortening the idli moulds with minimal fat and bubble the aqua in a steamer.After 15 to 30 mins introduce baking soda and lemon liquid in it and incorporate well.

Now put a 1 table spoon idli mixture into each of the greased idli mould and steam in a steamer for about 13 to 15 mins or until the idlis are cooked.Let them Cool and then demould them.
