Ingredients
1 cup Arhar dal (Split Toor Dal)
1/4 cup Chana dal (Bengal Gram Dal) - roasted
6 Dry Red Chillies
1 teaspoon Whole Black Peppercorns
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
10 Curry leaves
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
Salt - to taste
Instructions

To begin making the Paruppu Podi formula, bring to temperature a heavy bottomed skillet on medium bring to temperature and char all the fixings except roasted bengal gram dal and table salt, till they turn golden brown color and aroma arises.

Once it is done, turn off the bring to temperature and transfer to a paper towel to cool completely.Next whiz all the fixings for the Paruppu Podi including the roasted Bengal gram to a fine ground mix.

The Paruppu Podi is now ready to use.Store it in an airtight container.present this Paruppu Podi | Lentil ground mix with scalding white rice and ghee or gingelly cooking oil and sutta appalam (roasted papad) on side. .
