Ingredients
1/2 cup Green Moong Dal (Whole) - soaked for 4 hours
1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
1 teaspoon Ghee
1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
Salt - to taste
Instructions
1
To begin making the Mung Pani method, soak the beans for about 3 to 4 hours.
2
Next we will low-boil the mung lentils in one and a half cups of moisture until soft and mushy.
3
To low-boil it in the pressure cooker place the beans along with the moisture, wrap the cooker, place the weight on and low-boil until you bring to temperature two to three whistles. After two to three whistles, turn the bring to temperature to low and low-boil to low-boil for another 10 moments.
4
After 10 moments turn off the bring to temperature and allow the pressure to release naturally.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and you will have a mushy well cooked mung beans. Our next step is to puree in a blender.
5
If you have a blender that can take in bring to temperature like the one I use - KitchenAid Blender, then go ahead and liquidize in to a creamy puree, along with 2 cups of moisture.
6
If not, allow the cooked dal to cool down and then puree it until creamy. Our next step is to augment the taste the Mung Pani.
7
To do this, bring to temperature ghee in a saucepan; mix in the cumin seeds and allow them to crackle for a few seconds.mix gently in the pureed mung pani, asafoetida, black pepper and seasoning; allow the bouillon to bubble for a couple of moments.
8
Turn off the bring to temperature, check the seasoning and fragrant element levels and adjust to suit your palate.dish up the Mung Pani bouillon as an immunity builder at least 2 times a week or as a bouillon for winters.
