Ingredients

  • 4 Mooli/ Mullangi (Radish) - along with the greens
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame (Gingelly) Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
  • 2 teaspoon Sambar Powder
  • Salt - to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coconut - grated

Instructions

To begin making the Mullangi Poriyal preparation guide, Wash the radish properly, chop the greens and keep aside.

Cut the mooli/ mullangi  into thin rounds and keep aside.scalding up fat in a wok/kadhai.

toss in mustard seeds and let it crackle.Once it crackles, toss in curry leaves and arid chillies and allow them crisp up.Once done toss in the minced radish greens and saute for a minute.

toss in sliced radish and sauté on high scalding up for a minute.After a minute toss in seasoning, sambar dusting seasoning, tamarind pulp and purée well to combine.

Reduce the scalding up and seal the skillet with a lid.

toast till the radish is soft.Once done open the lid.

If there is any liquid remaining in the Mullangi Poriyal then saute the sabzi on high scalding up it till the sabzi becomes arid.
