Ingredients

  • 6 amla
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • salt - as per taste
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 10-15 mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup green coriander - chopped
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 dry red chili - break
  • asafoetida - a pinch

Instructions

To make the Nellikai Rasam formula, first of all, empty the amla in a saucepan with 2 cups of aqua.

prepare on low mildly hot.

After the amla becomes soft, empty out the aqua, turn off the gas and keep it aside.

Now in a mixer grinder, mix in tomato, ginger, mint, coriander, green chili, cumin, black pepper dusting masala condiment and grind it.

Keep it separately.

mix in the cooked amla, 3 cups of aqua, turmeric dusting masala condiment in a cooking vessel and allow it to heat to boiling point on low mildly hot.

After boiling, mix in ground spices, table salt and toss together.

Let it heat to boiling point After that turn off the gas and keep it aside.

Now mildly hot the ghee in a tempering cooking vessel for tempering.

mix in mustard seeds and let it splutter.

After this mix in arid red chillies, asafoetida and prepare for 15 seconds.

mix in this tempering to the rasam and dish up.

dish up Nellikai Rasam with Thoran of Carrot and Beans, Rice and Keerai Sambar.
