Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Rice
  • 1/3 cup Yellow Moong Dal (Split)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar - (or rock candy sugar)
  • 1-1/2 cups Milk
  • 1-1/2 cups Water
  • 4 tablespoons Dessicated Coconut
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • Mixed dry fruits - as per preference

To begin making Chakkra Pongali directions (Andhra Style nectarous Pongal), sauté the rice & moong dal together in fiery ghee until they become perfumed & turn slightly brownish.empty in them in a pressure cooker, empty in the dairy liquid, liquid & prepare till  idone (say 3 whistles mostly)Meanwhile mildly hot a kadai with a bit of ghee, and sauté the parched fruits till done and keep aside.Also sauté the desiccated coconut in ghee in the same kadai for 4-5 moments until it changes colour.Once the rice toss together cools down, keep it on stovetop on medium mildly hot & empty in the sweetener, cardamom dusting seasoning & keep stirring it continuously.You can even empty in a clove & a bit of crushed edible camphor for additional flavour.The sweetener should liquefy & the porridge should start thickening in approx 8-10 moments on medium mildly hot.Once the pongali has thickened, switch off the stove & empty in the parched fruits & toasted coconut. present Chakkra Pongali directions (Andhra Style nectarous Pongal) as a dessert along with a meal of Steamed rice, Pappu Charu directions (Lentil broth Style Curry), Nalla Karam Podi directions, Beetroot Vepudu directions and an Elai Vadam directions for ann Andhra inspired meal.
