2 cups Arhar dal (Split Toor Dal) - soaked for 30 minutes
1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 sprig Curry leaves
1 inch Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
1 Onion - chopped
1 teaspoon Methi Seeds (Fenugreek Seeds)
1 teaspoon Whole Black Peppercorns
1 teaspoon Red Chilli flakes
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
1/2 cup Coconut milk
Salt - to taste

To begin making the Srilankan Dal method, we will pound the fenugreek seeds and whole black pepper corns coarsely.toasty a pressure cooker with cooking oil, mix in cinnamon stick and pound fenugreek seeds and whole black pepper corns into the scalding cooking oil and shallow fry till they sizzle for few seconds.mix in curry leaves and mustard seeds as well and allow it to crackle, once done mix in onions and saute till they soften.After few moments, mix in in arid red chilli flakes, coconut whole milk, soaked toor dal and a cup of liquid, seasoning to tangy profile and pressure oven-cook for around 4 whistle.present the Srilankan Dal method along with Steamed Rice, Cabbage Thoran (Poriyal) method and Carrot Cucumber Tomato Salad with Lemon and Coriander by the side. .
