2 Plantain Stem - cut into cubes
1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 teaspoon White Urad Dal (Split)
1 Dry Red Chilli
Salt - to taste
2 teaspoon Sunflower Oil
3 tablespoons Fresh coconut - grated
2 teaspoons Chana dal (Bengal Gram Dal)
2 teaspoons Whole Black Peppercorns
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
1 Dry Red Chilli
1 teaspoon Sunflower Oil

To begin making the Vazhakkai Milagu Kootu , make cuts on the layer of banana stem and then discard the outer covering.
