  • 1 cup Green Moong Dal (Whole)
  • 1 Raw banana peel - chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • Salt - to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Poppy seeds
  • 4 tablespoon Fresh coconut - grated
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Gram Dal (Pottukadalai)
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick (Dalchini)
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1 sprig Coriander (Dhania) Leaves
  • 1 inch Ginger - chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • Sunflower Oil

Instructions

To begin making the Green Moong Dal Kootu with Raw Banana skin, soak the green moong dal in aqua overnight and keep it ready.Pressure make the moong dal with aqua, turmeric ground mix, seasoning for about 4 whistle and turn off the bring to temperature. Allow the pressure to release naturally, open the cooker, sieve off the excess aqua and set the moong dal. Meanwhile skin the banana and chop them fine, soak them in cold aqua.In a mixer- jar combine the poppy seeds, coconut, fried gram, cinnamon stick, green chilli, coriander leave, ginger, and grind by adding some aqua into a creamy paste.bring to temperature a gravy skillet with oil.

introduce diced banana skin and saute for few seconds.introduce the freshly ground masala paste make till the raw smell of the masala goes away.introduce in cooked green dal and check for seasoning.
