1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 Cardamom (Elaichi) Pods/Seeds - powdered
1 tablespoon Ghee
2 teaspoons Raisins

We begin making the Kerala Style Vattayapam method (Steamed Coconut Rice Cakes method) by soaking the broken rice in moisture for about 8 hours.

Then grinding it into a seamless paste along with cumin seeds.In a mixing bowl introduce the rest of the items required, including leavening agent.

mix gently well and rest for overnight to get a nice fermented paste or else you can rest for 4 hours.toasty a steamer, introduce the paste to a greased tray, stream in in the paste and steam it for about 45 mins till it is done.
