1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 cup Wheat Bran
1-1/4 teaspoon Active dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Water - lukewarm

To begin making Goan Poee method-fermenter Bread method mix in all the components listed in a standalone mixer.

mash for about five mins till all the components are well combined.You can optionally mix in all the components in a dish and mix in little moisture at a time and shape to make a seamless poee pastry mix.Apply some fat at the top of the poee pastry mix and keep it aside to rise until the pastry mix doubles in size; for about 2 hours.Once double in size remove the pastry mix onto a flat surface and punch out the air.

Divide the pastry mix into 12 equal portions, shape them into balls.Dust the rolled balls on wheat bran, roll them lightly to a 3 inch diameter discs and place them on the baking sheet.Allow the bran dusted poee bread to rise again for another 1 hour. Once the Poee bread have risen, preheat an oven to 220 degree Celsius for ten mins.

Place the Goan Poee to oven-cook for six to eight mins until golden brown.Do not oven-cook for too long as poee will crisp up and become hard.Once done, remove from the oven and enjoy burning.enjoy Goan Poee with Goan Style Mushroom Shagoti and Potato Vindaloo for a Goan meal or you can even enjoy it with a Continental meal made of froth of Pumpkin bouillon and Walnut Mushroom Veg Bolognese .
