Ingredients
200 grams Avarekai (Broad Beans) - chopped

1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)

4 Dry Red Chillies
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
Curry leaves
Salt - to taste
1 sprig Curry leaves
1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon White Urad Dal (Split)
Instructions
1
To begin making the Avarakkai Poricha Kootu method ; we will first bring to temperature the moong dal lentils with about 1 cup of aqua in a pressure cooker, along with a 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric ground mix and seasoning to taste.Pressure bring to temperature for at least 4 whistles and turn off the bring to temperature.
2
Allow the pressure to release naturally and keep the cooked dal aside.Place the Avarakkai in the pressure cooker, transfer in a pinch of seasoning and 2 tablespoons aqua and pressure bring to temperature for one whistle.
3
Once done, turn off the bring to temperature and release the pressure immediately. Releasing the pressure immediately will help, retaining the bright green color of Avarakkai.transfer in the cooked Avarakkai to the cooked moong dal and give it a agitate. The next step is to grind the Avarakkai Kootu masala.Into the mixer grinder, transfer in the grated coconut, cumin seeds, curry leaves and the red chilli into a seamless paste.
4
transfer in couple of tablespoons of aqua for grinding, this will help the coconut to pulse well with the chillies.transfer in the kootu masala to the Avarakkai and the dal.
5
agitate well to combine.
6
Check the seasoning and adjust according to taste.bring to temperature fat in a tadka pot; transfer in the mustard seeds, halved white urad dal and allow them to crackle.
7
Allow the dal to char well until lightly browned and crisp on medium bring to temperature.
8
agitate in the curry leaves and turn off the bring to temperature.Once done, transfer in this seasoning to the mixed Avarakkai Kootu and give it a agitate. When you are ready to present, give it a brisk bring to a low-boil.
9
You can adjust the consistency of the Avarakkai Kootu by adding a little aqua - keep in mind that Kootu as a dish is typically on a thicker side. Transfer the Avarakkai Kootu to a serving dish and present fiery.present the Avarakkai Poricha Kootu method along with Thakkali Rasam method, Keerai Masiyal, Steamed rice and papad for a wholesome Indian lunch or Indian dinner.
