Ingredients
1/2 cup Yellow Moong Dal (Split)
1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
1 tablespoon Ghee
2 tablespoons Mint Leaves (Pudina) - chopped
Water - as needed
Salt - as needed
Instructions

To begin making the Pudina Moong Dal directions, mix in 1 cup of liquid, turmeric dusting masala condiment and washed moong dal in a stainless steel vessel and bring to temperature till the dal turns soft.

Alternatively, just pressure bring to temperature upto 2 whistles.Once the dal is cooked, mix in 1 and 1/2 cups of liquid, seasoning.

Bring to a bubble and then bubble gently.

While the dal is simmering, prepare the tadka.bring to temperature ghee/cooking oil in a tadka cooking vessel.

First cooking vessel-fry the cumin seeds and then mix in asafoetida.mix in mint leaves and cooking vessel-fry for some seconds.

Lastly mix in red chili dusting masala condiment.Immediately, transfer this tempering/tadka mixture in the dal & swirl around well.

bubble gently the dal for 2 to 3 mins.enjoy Pudina Moong Dal along with Capsicum Usili and Phulkas for a weekday lunch or dinner.
