  • 4 cup Buttermilk
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee

Instructions

To begin making Maheri, fiery up ghee or coat in a pressure cooker.

Once the ghee is fiery introduce hing, cumin seeds and allow the seeds to crackle.

Once they starts crackling, introduce turmeric dusting sugary-smelling element.introduce 2 cups of aqua and seasoning and bring it to heat to boiling point.

Once the aqua starts boiling introduce buttermilk and bring it to heat to boiling point again.Now introduce the barnyard millet and incorporate well.

seal the pressure cooker and turn the fiery up to low.

Pressure oven-cook for 2 whistles.  Let the pressure release naturally and then open the pressure cooker.Transfer the Maheri to a serving dish and present. present Maheri as a diet-friendly breakfast with pickle or Green Chutney for a comforting breakfast.
