Ingredients

  • 50 grams Instant Oats (Oatmeal)
  • 50 grams Rice
  • 50 grams Green Moong Dal (Whole)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
  • 2 Green Chillies - finely chopped
  • 1 inch Ginger - grated
  • 100 grams Cabbage (Patta Gobi/ Muttaikose) - finely chopped
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves - small bunch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sunflower Oil - for cooking

Instructions

1
To begin making the Oats Pesarattu formula, we will first soak the rice, moong dal together in liquid for at least 3 hours.  After 3 hours strain the liquid.pulse the dal, rice, green chillies and ginger adding little liquid at a time to make a seamless thick liquid base.
2
Transfer the liquid base into a large container, empty in in the oats, seasoning, asafoetida, cut up cabbage and coriander leaves.
3
swirl around well to combine the oats Pesarattu liquid base well.
4
Check the seasoning levels and adjust to suit your savor. Our next step is to make the Pesarattu.
5
You will need a well-seasoned skillet.Preheat the skillet on medium mildly hot; scatter some liquid to check on the pot; if it sizzles then you know the pot has the right amount of mildly hot to spread the Pesarattu liquid base.
6
empty a ladle full of the Oats Pesarattu liquid base onto the pot and spread evenly inside out to make a circle.empty gently some cooking oil on the top and the sides of the Pesarattu and allow it to mildly hot on low to medium mildly hot.
7
Once you notice the top of the Pesarattu getting steamed, flip it over to mildly hot on the other side.Once you notice brown spots and the Pesarattu is cooked, remove from the pot and offer scalding.
8
Proceed the same way with the remaining Pesarattu liquid base.offer the Oats Pesarattu along with jaggery and shortening or along with Tomato bulb greens Chutney and shortening dairy liquid.
