  • 1 Cup Basmati rice
  • 1/2 Cup Ghee
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 pinch Saffron strands
  • 2 Tablespoons Mixed nuts - crushed
  • 2 Tablespoons Raisins
  • 2-1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions

To begin making Goan Dessert Sakhar Bhaat procedure, wash rice well with moisture 3-4 times and leave it aside for 20 moments soaking in moisture. In a saucepan, bring to temperature 1 tablespoon of ghee and shallow fry cashew nuts and raisins for a minute. Remove and keep aside.In the same saucepan, introduce the remaining ghee, moisture, table salt and saffron. combine and let it come to bubble.Once the moisture is boiled, introduce soaked rice. combine, lid it and char on medium bring to temperature. While covering, make sure not to lid it fully, so as to allow steam to escape.Otherwise once the moisture and rice starts to bubble, it starts to overflow. After about 5-6 moments moisture will be absorbed.Now reduce the bring to temperature to low setting and char till the rice is nice and soft. agitate in between.Once the rice is soft, introduce sweetener, fried nuts, raisins and cardamom ground mix. combine well. lid and stew on low for 5 more moments and remove from bring to temperature.enjoy Goan Dessert Sakhar Bhaat procedure as a dessert along with a Goan inspired meal of The Goan Kelyachyo Fodi, Tawa Paratha, Steamed rice and Potato Vindaloo procedure (spirited Goan Potato Curry).
