Ingredients

  • 2 cups Green Moong Sprouts
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato - finely chopped
  • 1 Carrot (Gajjar) - thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 Green Chilli - finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger - paste
  • 2 Lemons - juiced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Maharashtrian Goda Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt - to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Sunflower Oil

Instructions

To begin making the  Moong Sprouts Usal formula , bring to temperature of cooking oil in a heavy bottomed pot on medium bring to temperature; introduce mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow it to crackle.

Once the seeds have crackled introduce in the asafoetida and swirl around for a few seconds.

To this introduce in the cut up shallot, green chillies, ginger, garlic and saute until the onions turn translucent.Once the onions have turned translucent swirl around in the moong sprouts, along with the cut up tomatoes, carrots and the turmeric ground mix, coriander ground mix, goda masala, along with the sweetener and table salt to savor.

whiz to combine all the items required well.wrap the pot and prepare on low bring to temperature for about 4 to 5 mins until the sprouts are slightly softened or you can keep the sprouts just-picked like a salad.decorate the Moong Sprouts Salad with cut up coriander leaves and offer.offer Moong Sprouts Usal formula along with a meal of Dal Vangi formula and Steamed Rice formula.
