Ingredients

  • 2 cups Semia - baked
  • 1 teaspoon Rye
  • 1 teaspoon White Urad Dal (split)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves - finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dal Sugar Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 onion - finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger - grated
  • 1 carrot - chopped
  • 6 green beans - finely chopped
  • 2 carrots - finely chopped
  • 1 lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • red chili powder - as per taste
  • salt - as per taste
  • sprig of green coriander - finely chopped

Instructions

To make Semiya Upma, first scalding up 2 tablespoons coat in a wok.

introduce mustard seeds and let it stew for 10 seconds.

Now put urad dal in it and stew for 20 seconds.

Now introduce bulb veggie, ginger, curry leaves and stew till the bulb veggie becomes soft.

After the bulb veggie softens, introduce vegetables and stew till the vegetables are soft.

After the vegetables are soft introduce semia and the remaining sari elements.

introduce 1 cup of liquid, combine and put a lid on the wok.

Allow it to stew for 10 moments.

After 10 moments, open the wok, combine and stew it with a little more liquid if raw.

Turn off the gas, introduce lemon, green coriander and ghee and combine once the semia has softened.
